Inspiration Nation

Just the word inspiration makes me feel all tingly inside. Inspiration has always been what has driven me to continue to pursue my dream of owning my own boutique/ salon. Although there are so many influences from people, companies, local designers, friends, family, cosmetologists, small business owners and the media, there is always one from those categories that, every once in a while continues to inspire my passion.
Jusssssssst sayin'.... Creare Designs is one of those. Local Colorado designer, model, go go dancer, and hair & makeup artist, Samantha Martucci. A few months ago, shortly after I fell in love with Etsy.com, I saw Sam was selling her pieces on the site, I had already loved this fur vest she had on in one of her modeling photos and what do you know... She was selling it! I bought it of course, I love it! I am even wearing it in one of my photos from my photo shoot with Andrea.
Anyways, let's get back to the inspiring part. I took a look at her Facebook page, she was doing so many cool things with her shop and clothing line I kinda thought to myself "this is the inspiration boost I need" because this was EXACTLY the excitement that I needed! She even won her first runway show prize in March and the final is coming up in May. So be sure to vote for her! And go to the show, which I believe is at Suite200 in downtown Denver.
Her designs are so well fabricated and thought out. I love the fact that she models her own pieces, she seems to have great connections with Denver photographers, and the way that she has been "advertising" her line is awesome, she has a lot of followers. From her passion, drive and motivation, to her outgoing personality and ability to network, I think this girl is going places. She has so many people who support her and love her line, including myself. Time to pull out the sewing machine....

Me, Myself & I

I'm just going to say it, I know this post may sound a little conceded, however I have been looking forward to blogging about modeling. Since my modeling career is so fresh and new, I wanted to share with you some of my outfits I wore to my first ever photo shoot.
An amazing woman I met in December at my first fashion show in Aspen, Andrea Simms, happens to be an awesome photographer as well as a successful fashion consultant! She works at a high end consignment store in town and I ran into her, with great news that she wanted to do a shoot with me! I thought, "awesome! she has great fashion sense, she's a personal fashion consultant, and she's so much fun." So we set up a time and place to meet, however we wished the weather were a little nicer, we made due. Everything went so well and I didn't think I would like being in front of the camera at first but then I got used to being with her and she made it super easy and fun for the both of us.
I really want to send out a special thank you to Andrea and I hope that the two of us get to work together again soon!

Here are some of the photos from our shoot! :)

WILD and FREE

I just discovered this amazing Etsy Shop!!Wild and Free Jewelery.

The designer's name is Corina Brown, she lives in Santa Barbara, and I think I'm in love. This girl has talent and is very creative! She has unique designs for the "free" spirited fashionista and I love it because the concept is directly expressed in her pieces. From feather hair extensions to gypsy chains to vintage boots and headdresses, she has created a unique shop and I think that this is going to be my new obsession.
If you go and "Like" her on FaceBook (which you should, no questions asked) you'll find some amazing inspiration in her photo albums. Even a step by step guide to making vintage boots out of cowgirl boots, adorned with belts, denim and crochet fabrics and Mexican blankets.
